Massage treatment details
Deep Tissue Massage (60 or 90 minutes)
A deeper, focused massage targeting specific areas of muscle tightness to ease chronic and acute tension. Sometimes the client can feel a little sore afterwards as the muscle heals. The level of pressure can be adjusted during the massage depending on feedback from the client. The way I perform a Deep Tissue massage has similarities to Sports Massage, because it is focussed on treating knots and tightness in muscle tissue while reducing tension and promoting relaxation. However, my massage is suitable for everyone, not just athletes.
Sports Massage (60 or 90 minutes)
Sports massage is similar to deep tissue because it’s a deeper massage focussed on the manipulation and stretching of muscles and connective tissue to aid movement and performance. Sports massage is not just for athletes. If your muscles are feeling tight or tender, a Sports massage can relieve acute tension and improve muscle performance. Even everyday levels of muscle strain and stress will be eased with a focussed sports massage. However, if you are suffering serious pain or discomfort over a sustained period, you should consult a medical professional first. If you’re unsure whether to book a Sports or Deep Tissue massage that’s not a problem as I can adjust the focus of the treatment during the session.
Swedish Massage (60 or 90 minutes)
This massage is ideal for relaxation and stress relief. Long, sweeping strokes are used. The level of pressure can be from soft to medium as chosen by the client.
Runner's/Cyclist's Massage (45 minutes)
This massage concentrates on the legs, glutes and feet with focused techniques to ease discomfort caused by exercise such as running or cycling. Handcrafted muscle relieving balm will alleviate sore muscles and increase range of motion and flexibility.
Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes)
This massage is a relaxing treatment of the back, neck and shoulders. For many clients, these are the areas of the body which hold most stress and tension. The entire back is massaged, from the neck and shoulders to the glutes. This relaxing massage helps to relieve muscular discomfort in those areas as well as aiding relaxation, enhancing the senses and promoting clear thinking. This can be performed as a Swedish or Deep Tissue treatment depending on the client's preferred pressure.
Chair Massage (30 minutes)
A convenient and relaxing treatment of the back, neck, shoulders, arms and scalp over clothing. The therapist will bring a massage chair for this treatment. The whole back is massaged, from the top of the glutes up to the neck. The level of pressure can be tailored according to the client's preference for deeper or lighter pressure. A professional chair massage is much more beneficial than many of the 'quick back rubs' often provided at events. It's also more convenient for the client as there is less setting up and no need to undress. A light top such as a t-shirt is perfect.
Reflexology (30 minutes)
Reflexology, or zone therapy as it is often known outside the UK, is a deeply relaxing treatment of the feet with benefits that can be felt throughout the body. By working on reflex points on your feet or hands, reflexology can relieve congestion, aid circulation, relax muscles, calm over-activity in any part of the body and stimulate under-activity. Some people have a reflexology treatment purely to achieve a sense of wellbeing and harmony.
